Our Story
Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market began as a result of like-minded community members who wanted an alternative shopping experience – one that did not include chain supermarkets, and did include sustainability, local products, and growing the local economy. Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market was first incorporated as a Co-op on April 1st, 2009 and officially opened on July 22nd of the same year at 51 N. Main Street, Gloversville, NY.
As more community members purchased shares of the Co-op, and business expanded, the store moved across the street, less than a block south of its original location and here it still resides, at 30 N. Main Street. The Co-op has been referred to as the “gem” of downtown Gloversville and has grown substantially from its beginning. The Co-op is governed by a board of directors, and run by a General Manager and several dedicated staff.
