Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery will host a “Meet the Artist Reception” on Friday, November 17, between 5pm and 7pm. A new selection of original artwork by co-op member artists, including unique holiday gift items, will be on display. A small forest of artist-designed tabletop trees will be unveiled and available for purchase. The Micropolis tree of handcrafted ornaments— an annual favorite— takes on a new look this year.
The gallery is filled with paintings, drawings, pastels, photographs, fiber art, mixed media, glass, digital art, jewelry, pottery, woodland assemblages, baskets, turned items of exotic wood and fine art cards by members of Micropolis Cooperative. The members are Betsy Batchelor, Paula Becker, Dan Bridge, Karen J. F. Cooper, Ruth Christie Crotty, Cheryl Gutmaker, Michelle Harring, Alex Higgins, Linda Hinkle, Kathy Klompas, Linda Kollar, Kevin Kuhne, Phyllis Lapi, Anne Marie LaVallee, Jonathan Moore, Lynda Naske, Kathie Raneri, Katie Santomartino, Cindy Sheeler, Sandy Smith, Martha Starke, Gabriella Vardai-Davidson and Eileen Wrightsman.
On Small Business Saturday, November 25, Santa will visit the gallery. He will welcome the young and young at heart between 10am and noon. Guests are encouraged to bring a camera.
The gallery, located inside Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market at 30 N. Main St., Gloversville, is open Monday-Friday / 9am-6pm and Saturdays from 9am until 2pm.Both events are free and open to the public.
